This past week has gone by in a blur for us. It's been extremely busy in our house. For me, I've had a ton of school work and grading to get done. Rick had this weekend off work, but we ended up spending most of it (like 5 hours each day) at Barnes & Noble while I graded papers. I haven't even started my homework for this week yet...no time! Rick has been wonderful helping out around the house while I bogged down with work. The living room and dining room now look super spiffy. I have to find some time to clean out my closet though. It is seriously bad. I don't even want to take a "before" picture of it, it is so bad. That's my goal for this weekend. Since the quarter is now over, I shouldn't have as much grading to get done and can possibly have an actual weekend.
On top of it, I'm coming down with a case of the yuckies. I have a scratchy/sore throat, some sinus congestion and just an overall feeling of the blahs. I got light-headed randomly at work today and started hearing ringing in my ears. It also doesn't help that I was only able to sleep for about 3 hours last night off and on for whatever reason. I am trying to take it easy tonight, while still getting my homework done. This week is parent/teacher conferences, so it's going to be very busy with not a lot of free time.
On a happier note, we are starting to plan ahead for our one year trip. We both really want to take a vacation somewhere each year for our anniversary because we both love traveling and want to do it more often. I don't know if we'll ever be able to top Hawaii though. That was a dream trip for us.
Right now, we're looking into all-inclusives (AI's) in Mexico. We had thought about doing San Francisco/northern Cali wineries but don't know if we can afford to do it the way we want to right now. We also thought about cruises, which are affordable. They are a great way to see a lot of islands you wouldn't otherwise be able to. However, I am unsure if I am a cruise person. The idea of being on a boat, even a big boat, for that long kind of skeeves me out. I think I'd get bored and go stir crazy. I'd rather spend my time at an actual location.
So far, our top choice is the all-inclusive Dreams Los Cabos.
It looks gorgeous, and we were able to find some good airfaire+ hotel deals on Travelocity. I think we're going to talk to a travel agent after the holidays to possibly book a trip for July.
Anyone been to Mexico and/or an AI before? Any tips, suggestions, or advice?
Well I am going to do homework/rest, so I hopefully feel better and my eye stops twitching from stress. The husband is running out to get me a pumpkin pie blizzard because I saw a commercial and it sounded really good (like I need those calories!) and we're getting ready to watch House. Hope you all have a good week :)
